About LALISA®

My beautiful & strong Italian grandmother, an expert dress designer & seamstress, instilled in me a love of quality and design. In the 50's she custom made dresses for Jackie Onassis, the Ford family and other elite women on the Upper East Side in NYC. Her passion for excellence & fashion has been a part of me long before I would understand what it would mean to my life and my career.

Throughout my career, I was fortunate to work with high end designers like Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Taryn Rose and Thierry Rabotin. Each experience confirming what I already knew...if it's worth designing it's worth being well made.

LALISA® was created to fill a void in the marketplace for functional yet beautiful footwear. LALISA® focuses on handcrafted classic loafers, low heeled sandals and of course, the perfect 'not so flat' ballet flat. Our footwear is available in only the best independent retailers throughout the US. Each pair is handmade by artisans in Spain with love and pride.

Working with factories in Italy you would be greeted with a joyous "Ecco La Lisa!" as you entered. This is a feeling and memory that will be with me forever. and this is how we came to saying....Hello LALISA®!

20 + years in the footwear business has taught me one thing....women need comfortable footwear in their life! We are the caretakers, the plan makers, the business women, the movers and the shakers for us, our families and our companies. So why should our feet suffer? LALISA® was created by a woman who firmly believes in supporting the people around us.

Why are our shoes better? Designed by a woman for women, fully leather lined and leather upper (outside of the occasional fabulous material that we add in like GLITTER!) manufactured in a single factory who has specialized in comfortable smart footwear for 70 years, our goal is for footwear that fits a woman's foot rather than trying to make the foot fit the shoe!
